The Laundry Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of a commercial laundry plant. This position is responsible for performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure that all laundry equipment runs optimally, minimizing downtime and ensuring productivity targets are met. As a Laundry Equipment Technician, you will focus on preventative maintenance and immediate repair of mechanical systems, identifying and addressing issues such as equipment jams, malfunctioning belts, or missing parts on assigned machines. You will also collaborate with engineering and technical staff to resolve complex mechanical challenges and maintain clear communication with production supervisors regarding equipment status.

Laundry Equipment Technician - Summary- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial laundry machinery and equipment.
- Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Collaborates closely with technical and engineering teams to address complex mechanical issues.
- Maintains accurate logs and communicates the status of equipment repairs to production supervisors.
- Ensures a safe, clean work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on laundry equipment according to established schedules.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in overhead rail systems, conveyor systems, and other laundry machinery.
- Identify and correct equipment issues, such as jams, damaged or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including external vendors, with repairs and installations as needed.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, recording incomplete tasks and newly identified problems for future action.
- Promptly notify production supervisors of equipment issues that may impact plant operations or cause downtime, as well as when repairs have been completed and equipment is back online.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including lockout/tag out procedures, confined space entry, and hot equipment handling.
- Continuously maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety for self and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the laundry plant.
