Working as a Laundry Attendant, you will be part of a dedicated front-line production team responsible for various stages of the laundry process, including but not limited to dryer operation, wash operation, stain removal, sewing and mending, soil sorting, commercial ironing, folding, packing, and distribution of finished linens. Your attention to detail and ability to follow procedures are vital in maintaining the overall quality and consistency of the laundry services provided by the organization.
This position requires you to be proactive in supporting the continuous flow of linen through the different stages of the laundry process. You will be responsible for operating industrial washers and dryers, ensuring that all equipment is loaded correctly to prevent overloading and that proper load sizes are maintained. You must also adhere to all safety protocols and follow directions from supervisors to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
The Laundry Attendant is expected to maintain production standards as determined by the organization and to report any technical issues that may hinder the ability to meet these standards. Laundry Attendant - Summary- Position focused on processing and maintaining a high standard of linen and textile care in a hospitality laundry plant.
- Key part of front-line production team, supporting the delivery of clean and presentable linens for internal and external customers.
- Involvement in multiple steps of the laundry process, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution.
- Maintain the flow of linen into washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
- Pull laundry bags and process laundry activities in the prescribed order.
- Load linen into washers, ensuring empty pockets are filled and load sizes are correct to prevent overloading.
- Operate dryers, wash machines, stain washers, and assist with sewing/mending and soil sorting as needed.
- Perform commercial ironing, folding, packing, and distribution of finished laundry items.
- Follow all safety precautions and directions as provided by supervisors and company policy.
- Maintain production standards and report recurring technical problems to supervisors.
- Assist with other assigned duties to support the overall operation of the laundry facility.
