The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall guest satisfaction at hospitality establishments. Responsible for handling all soiled resort bed linens, towels, and food and beverage table linens, the Laundry Attendant carefully sorts, processes, and finishes all laundry items using specialized cleaning machinery while upholding the highest standards set forth by the resort. This full-time position reports directly to the General Manager of Laundry and/or the Laundry Supervisor and is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of the housekeeping and guest services departments.
As a Laundry Attendant, individuals must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks. The role requires the ability to remain calm under pressure, consistently use good judgment to resolve issues, and follow all directions thoroughly. Understanding the importance of guest service needs and maintaining the confidentiality of guest information is essential to this position. The Laundry Attendant must work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision, to achieve operational goals. Additionally, flexibility in work hours and days, including weekends and holidays, is necessary to meet the demands of the hospitality industry.
The Laundry Attendant's daily responsibilities include operating industrial washing and drying machines, folding, sorting, and storing cleaned linens, and conducting regular linen inventories to ensure adequate supplies. Physical stamina is required to endure repetitive movements, remain in a stationary position for extended periods, and reach and lift items as needed. Effective communication with guests, management, and co-workers is also essential for this position, as is a commitment to upholding the standards and reputation of the establishment.

Laundry Attendant - Summary
- Responsible for sorting, cleaning, processing, and finishing all resort linens and towels.
- Operates industrial laundry machinery according to established standards.
- Conducts regular linen inventories and maintains organization of supplies.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Sort soiled bed linens, towels, and table linens for appropriate cleaning cycles.
- Load, operate, and unload washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, and damage; reprocess as needed.
- Fold, stack, and store clean linens in designated storage areas.
- Perform regular linen inventories and report shortages to management.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols in the laundry area.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility.
- Follow all directions from supervisors and management regarding laundry operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all guest and resort information.
- Communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
