As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to women and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages.

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary
- Provides comprehensive care for laboring women and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases.
- Ensures patient safety and supports patient and family education throughout the care continuum.
- Maintains accurate, current documentation in electronic medical records.
- Works collaboratively with providers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrates flexibility in supporting multiple areas within the labor and delivery unit as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor triage and laboring patients, including performing continuous fetal monitoring, labor assessments, and supporting spontaneous rupture of membranes checks.
- Administer intravenous therapies, including fluids, Pitocin, MgSO4, antibiotics, and blood products, and provide effective pain management interventions.
- Assist providers during inductions and deliveries, including supporting cervical ripening, artificial rupture of membranes, and operative vaginal deliveries using vacuum or forceps as needed.
- Prepare patients for Cesarean-sections, including preoperative procedures such as shave-prep, Foley catheter placement, and intravenous bolus administration.
- Care for newborns by performing initial assessments, administering baths and immunizations, and providing breastfeeding assistance and education.
- Support high-risk patient stabilization and facilitate safe transport when required.
- Offer patient and family teaching on postpartum care and newborn health.
- Serve as a circulating nurse during C-section procedures and deliver breastfeeding education and support.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards within the labor and delivery environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (ACEN or CCNE).
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any US state or territory.
- Minimum one year of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) or Labor & Delivery nursing experience, with recent clinical practice within the past 12 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
- US citizenship required.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and reposition patients with assistance, and perform essential clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
