As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) process. You will be responsible for monitoring patients, implementing interventions, providing education, and supporting women and their families. The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for triage monitoring, continuous fetal and maternal assessment, intravenous management, and supporting natural and operative deliveries. You will assist providers in inductions, vaginal and operative deliveries, and pre-operative preparations for Cesarean sections. Additionally, you will provide care for newborns in the transition period, support breastfeeding, and help stabilize and transport high-risk patients as needed. All care delivered will be documented accurately in electronic medical records in accordance with hospital policies and best practices.
This role requires a flexible, detail-oriented nursing professional with at least one year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum nursing. A current, unrestricted RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required, with Neonatal Resuscitation Provider-Advanced (NRP) certification strongly preferred. The position involves working night shifts and requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum settings.
- Support the mission of Decypher and the Defense Health Agency to serve military members, veterans, and their families.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Monitor triage patients and perform continuous fetal and maternal assessments.
- Implement intravenous management, including fluids, medications, and pain control.
- Assist providers with inductions, vaginal deliveries, and operative vaginal deliveries (e.g., vacuum, forceps).
- Perform preoperative and postoperative care for Cesarean-sections, including prepping and emotional support.
- Support newborn transition care: baths, assessments, shots, and breastfeeding assistance.
- Stabilize and prepare high-risk patients for transport as needed.
- Educate patients and families throughout the LDRP process.
- Document all care accurately in electronic medical records.
- Provide family and patient-centered nursing care for infants and women of childbearing age.
- Work night shifts as required, including weekends and holiday rotations.

- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution (ACEN or CCNE).
- Minimum one year of experience in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum nursing, or Labor & Delivery nursing, with recent practice (within 12 months).
- Current, unrestricted RN license in any of the 50 US States or territories.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider-Advanced (NRP) certification (preferred).
- US Citizenship required.
- Demonstrates compassion, clinical expertise, and attention to detail in maternal and neonatal care.
