The Kitchen Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the efficient operation of the back-of-house in a dynamic restaurant environment. The Kitchen Manager works closely with the restaurant operations management team to achieve high standards in food quality, recipe execution, sanitation, and guest satisfaction. In the absence of senior managers, the Kitchen Manager assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the restaurant, ensuring seamless service and adherence to company policies.

Kitchen Manager - Summary
- Oversees all kitchen and back-of-house operations to ensure adherence to company standards and guest satisfaction.
- Acts as a key member of the restaurant management team, stepping in for senior managers as needed.
- Utilizes company recipes, products, and systems to maintain consistency and quality across all food offerings.
- Manages staffing, training, and performance to foster a productive and cohesive kitchen team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and hire qualified back-of-house staff for all production positions.
- Train and coach team members to meet high culinary and operational standards.
- Implement and manage company training programs, including Computer Based Training (CBT), Fast Tracks, and Safe Tracks certifications.
- Ensure all kitchen team members are properly uniformed and adhere to company appearance guidelines.
- Cross-train staff in different kitchen roles to ensure operational flexibility and coverage.
- Conduct performance appraisals, deliver feedback, and provide disciplinary counseling as necessary.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations to the kitchen team.
- Monitor and ensure preparation and execution of company recipes to achieve outstanding food quality and presentation.
- Plan and manage labor, scheduling, and budgeting to meet period and annual targets for food, labor, and controllable costs.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal health and sanitation requirements.
- Uphold company policies, including the Code of Ethics, and promote a positive work environment.
- Control food costs through effective ordering, receiving, storing, and inventory management practices.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in all areas of the back-of-house.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Two (2) to three (3) years of management experience in high-volume restaurant operations with a diverse menu.
- Associate's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Must complete the Certified Kitchen Manager certification program within six months of starting the role.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- Commitment to ongoing compliance with all training, certification, and safety standards.
