As a valued member of the cleaning and maintenance team working the 2nd shift, the Janitor helps keep workspaces, restrooms, break areas, equipment zones, and outdoor grounds clean and safe for all staff and visitors. This position is vital in supporting daily operations by performing thorough cleaning routines, adhering to established safety protocols, and ensuring that facilities remain presentable and hazard-free at all times. The Janitor works independently and as part of a team, following specific cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to company standards.

Janitor - Summary- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all designated facility areas, including breakrooms, restrooms, equipment areas, and exterior grounds.
- Works independently or as part of a team to complete daily, scheduled, and as-needed cleaning tasks.
- Adheres strictly to safety protocols and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Completes cleaning checklists and logs as required by management.
- Maintain clean and sanitary breakroom and restroom areas, removing trash and keeping surfaces disinfected.
- Ensure all facility floors are clean, dry, and free of slip hazards, promptly addressing any wet or messy areas with proper signage.
- Perform scheduled blowdown of equipment, ceilings, and machinery areas, documenting all completed work.
- Disinfect all tables and flat surfaces in the finishing area daily and accurately record completion in logs.
- Use dry vacuum equipment to remove lint and debris in areas that cannot be accessed by sweeping.
- Sweep soil rooms, stairwells, and dock areas daily, and maintain parking lots, sidewalks, and office surroundings free of trash and debris.
- Mop floors in cart washer and washroom areas daily, ensuring mop heads are laundered after use to prevent cross-contamination.
- Operate baler equipment and follow company protocols for equipment use and safety.
- Complete daily cleaning checklists and maintain organization throughout all plant and exterior grounds.
- Follow all company safety policies and perform any additional duties assigned by management.
