Janitor - SummaryAs a Janitor, you will be responsible for keeping all building areas clean and orderly. Your duties will involve heavy cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. By adhering to approved cleaning procedures and infection control plans, you will ensure that all assigned spaces are sanitized and well-maintained, supporting the overall mission of providing a safe and welcoming environment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with established procedures and infection control policies.
- Dust and damp mop floors using approved cleaning methods.
- Move equipment and furniture as needed to facilitate thorough cleaning, returning items to their proper placement afterwards.
- Clean assigned areas with supplied materials and equipment, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and hygienic.
- Follow the eight-step cleaning procedure to maintain consistency and quality in all cleaning tasks.
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to sustain a clean and safe environment for all building occupants.
- Take initiative to identify and address areas requiring additional cleaning attention.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor promptly and efficiently.
- Comply with all federal, state, and county regulations while performing cleaning tasks.
- Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets as directed.
- Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere and demonstrate professionalism in interactions with customers, fellow employees, and visitors.
- Perform any other janitorial duties as assigned to support overall facility cleanliness.
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $18.00 per hour.
