IT Support Specialist (MSP) Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist (MSP) to join a dynamic team with a leading managed service provider in Richardson, TX. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide comprehensive pre- and post-sales technical support, including conducting discovery meetings, site visits, developing proposals and presentations, performing technical assessments, implementing solutions, and managing ongoing technical accounts.
- Lead and manage IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments for clients in Richardson, TX, supporting their business infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and maintain Local Area Networks (LANs), including managing network hardware and software to maximize uptime and performance.
- Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot network security solutions to protect client data and systems.
- Build and deploy file servers as well as cloud computing solutions to enhance business productivity and scalability.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions to optimize client communication systems.
- Perform network infrastructure troubleshooting and resolve escalated service requests requiring advanced technical skills.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments to ensure reliable email and collaboration services.
- Support telephone systems and manage user onboarding processes for new employees.
- Monitor alert systems, interpret event logs, and take appropriate action to resolve technical issues as per guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange Server, and Active Directory.
- At least 3 years of experience in a client-facing environment, such as sales engineering, with a proven record of delivering high-quality technical support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients to understand and address their business and technical needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience writing proposals and implementing technical solutions that fulfill business requirements.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, self-motivation, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Comprehensive understanding of technology and business productivity systems.
- Experience using RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with PSA (Professional Services Automation) or ticketing tools is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to multitask.
- Sales training and previous experience working in a managed service provider (MSP) environment are highly desirable.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) are considered a significant asset.
