IT Support Specialist II (MSP) Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist II (MSP) for a full-time role with a leading managed IT solutions company based in Boise, ID. As an IT Support Specialist II, you will play a critical role in delivering advanced technical support within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic settings and have demonstrated expertise with business desktop and server technologies, as well as a deep understanding of both software and hardware troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive end-user assistance, addressing technical questions and resolving issues efficiently.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Windows Desktop related issues, ensuring timely diagnosis and resolution.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of Windows Servers, including Windows 2016 and 2019 environments.
- Monitor alert systems, analyze event logs, and take appropriate action in accordance with established guidelines to maintain network and system integrity.
- Respond to escalated service requests that require advanced troubleshooting and a higher level of technical expertise.
- Facilitate new user onboarding, ensuring a smooth setup of accounts, hardware, and software configurations.
- Support network services and equipment installation, including both LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Provide support for integrated technology systems such as door card access, wander guard, lighting, and HVAC controls.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) is required for this IT Support Specialist II (MSP) position.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in similar roles such as IT help desk, IT desktop support, IT support analyst, or IT service desk.
- Demonstrated history of network and firewall administration, with specific experience using Sonicwall and Meraki technologies.
- Experience with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools such as NinjaOne, ConnectWise, Kaseya, or DattoRMM.
- Proficiency with Professional Services Automation (PSA) ticketing systems, including Autotask or ConnectWise.
- Solid foundational knowledge in troubleshooting networks, servers, and workstation issues.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional, courteous, and tactful demeanor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to groups.
- Reliable work ethic and a commitment to consistent, high-quality performance.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced MSP environment.
