IT Support Engineer (MSP) – Full-time Position Overview
The IT Support Engineer (MSP) plays a vital role in providing high-quality technical support and solutions within a managed services provider (MSP) environment. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to deliver pre- and post-sales technical support, including discovery meetings, site visits, proposals, technical assessments, solution implementation, and ongoing technical account management.
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory to ensure secure and efficient IT operations for clients.
- Design, implement, and maintain Local Area Networks (LANs) to optimize network performance and reliability.
- Monitor and enhance network security protocols, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities to protect client data and systems.
- Oversee the optimization and maintenance of both network software and hardware to maximize uptime and minimize disruptions.
- Build, configure, and deploy file servers, as well as cloud computing solutions, to support evolving business needs.
- Configure and implement Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions, enabling seamless and cost-effective communication for clients.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems promptly.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server environments to ensure reliable email and collaboration services.
- Support and administer telephone solutions, aligning them with client requirements and best practices.
- Monitor alert systems and respond to notifications as per established guidelines to ensure operational continuity.
- Interpret event logs and use diagnostic messages effectively to identify and repair issues.
- Handle escalated service requests requiring advanced technical expertise and rapid resolution.
- Facilitate new user onboarding, ensuring smooth integration of employees into client systems and networks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange server, and Active Directory.
- At least three years of experience in a client-facing environment, such as sales engineering, with the ability to communicate effectively with business clients.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and address client technology and business needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in writing proposals and implementing technical solutions tailored to meet specific business objectives.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and reliable team player, exhibiting professionalism and a commitment to client satisfaction.
- In-depth understanding of technology and business productivity systems, enabling the delivery of value-driven solutions.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools for proactive IT service delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on customer service and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Sales training experience is considered a plus.
- Experience working in an MSP environment is highly desirable.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications, including CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), are highly regarded.
