IT Support Engineer (MSP) Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced IT Support Engineer (MSP) to join a leading IT Solutions Company. This full-time position is based in Melbourne, FL, and is ideal for candidates with a passion for solving complex IT challenges in a managed services provider (MSP) environment. As an IT Support Engineer (MSP), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality technical support and infrastructure management for business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers, including configuration and administration of Active Directory environments.
- Design Local Area Networks (LANs) for business clients to ensure optimal connectivity and reliability.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to protect client systems and data.
- Optimize and maintain both network software and hardware solutions, ensuring stability and performance.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions to support evolving business needs.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions for effective communication infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments for seamless email and communication services.
- Oversee telephone system solutions to support efficient business operations.
- Monitor alert systems, respond to notifications, and take appropriate action per established guidelines.
- Utilize event logs to determine root causes of issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Handle escalated service requests that require advanced technical expertise and prompt resolution.
- Conduct new user onboarding, ensuring seamless integration into client IT environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT help desk, desktop support, IT support analyst, IT service management, or similar roles.
- Direct experience working within an MSP (Managed Services Provider) environment is essential.
- Relevant certifications are highly valued, including CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), and MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Proven ability to provide comprehensive desktop and end-user support for both hardware and software issues.
- Strong knowledge of common desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (2010/2013/2016), Adobe products, and Intuit products.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across various operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and macOS.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print Services, File Services, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and other core Windows Server roles.
- Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions such as Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience in network and firewall administration, with knowledge of platforms such as Cisco, Sophos, and SonicWall.
- Understanding of server virtualization technologies, such as VMware ESXi and vCenter.
- Ability to analyze system and application logs, using performance monitoring tools to maintain system health.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, with a courteous, tactful, and professional demeanor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical information to groups.
- Reliable and consistent work ethic.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- CompTIA Net+ and/or CompTIA Security+
- MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
- CCNA or CCIE Cisco certifications are considered a plus
