IT Support Engineer III (MSP) Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer III (MSP) for a full-time opportunity in Yonkers, NY. This role is ideal for IT professionals who have worked in managed services provider (MSP) environments and possess both advanced technical skills and exceptional client-facing experience. As an IT Support Engineer III (MSP), you will play a key role in providing pre- and post-sales support, designing and implementing technology solutions, and managing ongoing technical account relationships. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise during discovery meetings, site visits, proposals, presentations, and technical assessments.
- Implement and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Local Area Networks (LANs) with a focus on optimizing network infrastructure and hardware.
- Configure, monitor, and enhance network security to protect client data and systems.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions tailored to client business needs.
- Configure and implement VOIP solutions and telephone systems for seamless communications.
- Troubleshoot advanced network infrastructure issues and resolve escalated service requests requiring expert analysis.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server, ensuring high availability and secure communications.
- Oversee new user onboarding processes and ensure all access is configured according to best practices.
- Monitor alert systems to proactively address network and system issues in line with company guidelines.
- Utilize event log messages to diagnose and remediate issues impacting client environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange server, and Active Directory.
- Demonstrated experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is required.
- At least 3 years of client-facing experience, ideally in a sales engineering or technical consulting role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities, with a focus on providing high-level customer service.
- Proven experience in writing proposals and implementing technical solutions that address client business needs.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex IT projects and service requests.
- Familiarity with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools such as Kaseya or ConnectWise is a plus.
- Experience using PSA (Professional Services Automation) ticketing systems like Autotask or ConnectWise is desirable.
- Sales training experience is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+.
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert.
- CCNA or CCIE (Cisco certifications) are highly valued but not required.
