IT Support Engineer III (MSP) Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer III (MSP) for a full-time position based in Bellevue, WA. This role is central to delivering comprehensive IT solutions and technical support for a managed services provider (MSP) environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of network infrastructure, and a proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including participating in discovery meetings, conducting site visits, preparing proposals and presentations, performing technical assessments, and supporting implementation and ongoing account management.
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments, ensuring stability, security, and optimal configuration for client needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain Local Area Networks (LANs), including optimization of network hardware and software for peak performance and security.
- Implement and monitor comprehensive network security measures to protect client data and infrastructure.
- Build, deploy, and manage file servers and cloud computing solutions, tailoring configurations to meet diverse business requirements.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions and telephone systems to support client communication needs.
- Perform advanced network infrastructure troubleshooting, resolving escalated service requests and complex technical issues efficiently.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Servers, ensuring reliable email and communication services for clients.
- Monitor alert systems and respond appropriately, using event logs and diagnostic information to execute repairs as needed.
- Lead new user onboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and effective integration into client environments.
- Utilize remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools such as Kaseya or ConnectWise to oversee client systems and proactively address issues.
- Leverage professional services automation (PSA) or ticketing systems like Autotask or ConnectWise for efficient incident tracking and resolution.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum five years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers, workstations, Exchange Server, and Active Directory in an IT support role.
- At least three years of experience working in a client-facing environment, such as sales engineering or technical consulting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clients to understand and resolve business and technology challenges.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities, with a track record of effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Experience developing technical proposals and implementing tailored IT solutions to address unique business requirements.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Deep understanding of business productivity systems and how technology aligns with organizational goals.
- Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools such as Kaseya, ConnectWise, or Autotask is highly valued.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, commitment to delivering top-tier customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a managed services provider (MSP) environment is highly preferred.
- Sales training or experience working closely with sales teams is a plus.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- CCNA or CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Expert) certifications are advantageous.
