IT Support Engineer (Full-time) – Tarpon Springs, FL
Our client, a respected IT solutions provider, is seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis in Tarpon Springs, FL. As an IT Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting, deploying, and optimizing IT infrastructure for a diverse client base, helping drive operational success and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver pre- and post-sales technical support, including participation in discovery meetings, site visits, technical assessments, and proposal development.
- Present technical solutions to clients through proposals and presentations, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business objectives.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain Windows Servers and Active Directory environments for client organizations.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LANs), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to safeguard client systems against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Optimize and maintain network software and hardware, ensuring systems are up-to-date and functioning efficiently.
- Build and deploy file servers, as well as cloud computing solutions, to meet evolving client requirements.
- Configure and deploy VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) solutions for enhanced business communications.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, utilizing event logs and alert systems to identify and resolve problems.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments to support client email and collaboration needs.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of telephone solutions for business clients.
- Monitor alert systems proactively, taking prompt action in accordance with established guidelines to address any issues.
- Handle escalated service requests that require advanced technical responses and problem-solving skills.
- Provide onboarding support for new users, ensuring smooth integration into client IT environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange server, and Active Directory.
- At least 3 years of experience in a client-facing environment, such as sales engineering or technical consulting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage business clients and understand their technology needs.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
- Proven experience in drafting proposals and implementing technical solutions to address business challenges.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, delivering extraordinary customer service.
- Demonstrated understanding of technology and business productivity systems.
- Experience with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools is considered a plus.
- Sales training experience is an advantage.
- Prior experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly valued.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- CompTIA Network+ (Net+) and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert).
