Inventory Control Specialist - Summary
- Support manufacturing operations by managing material flow and inventory accuracy
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain inventory records and execute transactions
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure timely material availability and efficient processes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inventory & Material Control:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and system updates
- Issue materials to production based on work orders and schedules
- Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages, discrepancies, or excess stock
- Organize warehouse and stockroom locations for optimal material flow
- Manage inventory transactions, including transfers, adjustments, and disposals
- RMA & Returns Coordination:
- Oversee the RMA process, including intake, inspection, documentation, and resolution
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service teams
- Track and report on RMA status and return activity
- Receiving & Logistics Support:
- Assist with receiving operations, shipment inspection, and documentation
- Coordinate with shipping/receiving teams for timely material movement
- Support internal material handling across departments
- Continuous Improvement & Projects:
- Participate in physical inventory preparation and execution
- Optimize stock locations, including overstock and WIP areas
- Assist in inventory optimization, reorganization, labeling, and tracking improvements
- Contribute to lean manufacturing and efficiency initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in material control, inventory management, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing setting
- Experience handling RMAs and returned goods preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications in supply chain, logistics, or related fields are a plus
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (such as Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with inventory control best practices and warehouse procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs unassisted and perform physical tasks in a production/warehouse setting
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
