Interventional Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech, IR Tech) - Summary
- Provide technical assistance and support for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring optimal imaging quality and patient safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Utilize advanced imaging equipment and adhere to all safety protocols during procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, including explaining processes and obtaining consent.
- Operate and maintain radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist in managing any complications during procedures.
- Ensure proper radiation safety measures are followed for patients, staff, and self.
- Assist physicians with catheterizations, stent placements, biopsies, and other interventional procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedure rooms and equipment according to protocols.
- Document procedure details, patient responses, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) from ARRT or equivalent accrediting body.
- Demonstrated expertise in interventional radiology procedures.
- Current BLS certification; additional certifications may be required based on assignment specifics.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and sterile technique standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Previous experience in a similar healthcare setting preferred.
