The role requires adaptability and a strong foundation in critical care, as emergencies can arise that demand quick, effective responses. RNs in this specialty must be comfortable navigating high-acuity situations and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
This opportunity is for a contract assignment, working full-time hours with 8-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Friday. The schedule may include both day and mid-shift hours, with an on-call component requiring availability for emergency and urgent cases, including some nights and rotating weekends. Applicants must be prepared to respond promptly to call-backs in accordance with facility guidelines.

Interventional Radiology RN - Summary
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology and cath lab procedures

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-procedural assessments and patient education
- Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cath lab procedures
- Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout procedures
- Administer medications and manage IVs as appropriate for procedural care
- Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Respond to emergent situations and provide critical care support as needed
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing coverage for emergency and urgent cases
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all members of the healthcare team

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Direct clinical experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Cath Lab required
- Background in Critical Care (ICU or ER experience strongly preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Familiarity with Epic or Cerner charting systems preferred
- Ability to fulfill on-call and emergency coverage requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
