The role of an Interventional Radiologist (IR) is vital in providing high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As an Interventional Radiologist, you will be responsible for delivering specialized medical care by utilizing minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to diagnose and treat various conditions. This opportunity is a contract-based position with a focus on temporary coverage, offering a unique chance to work alongside a dedicated team of supervising physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This Interventional Radiologist (IR) role requires expertise in performing a range of general invasive interventional procedures, including but not limited to biopsies, kyphoplasty, port placements, and paracentesis/thoracentesis. The caseload typically involves 9-10 procedures per day, covering both scheduled outpatient interventions and urgent inpatient needs. The working hours are structured around a 7:00 am to 5:30 pm schedule, ensuring comprehensive coverage for inpatient consults, outpatient clinic visits, and procedural care. Trauma and emergency situations are also part of the daily responsibilities, providing a diverse and impactful experience for clinicians who thrive in dynamic medical settings.
The position is supported by a team of three full-time APPs who assist in procedures and inpatient consults, under your supervision. The institution utilizes the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, streamlining patient documentation and workflow. Credentialing is efficient, with full privileges typically granted within 30-60 days, and temporary privileges available to expedite onboarding. The hospital values the expertise of its medical staff and provides support for travel as part of this contract assignment, ensuring a seamless experience for the incoming Interventional Radiologist (IR).
Candidates are required to possess an active medical license or qualify under the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC), along with current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
