The role of Interventional Radiologist (IR) is a critical position within the field of radiology, focusing on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity for a board-certified professional to work in a dynamic hospital environment, providing both interventional and diagnostic radiology services. The Interventional Radiologist (IR) will work across two closely situated hospital sites, utilizing advanced technologies such as PACSRP Cloud for electronic medical records. This full-time role requires a commitment to at least seven consecutive shifts per month, with each shift running from 8 am to 5 pm.
As an Interventional Radiologist (IR), you will be responsible for a diverse caseload, with approximately 60% of your work focused on interventional radiology procedures and the remaining 40% on diagnostic radiology tasks. The expected volume is 45-50 RVUs per shift, encompassing a wide range of procedures including angiography, arthrography, breast interventional radiology, CT-guided interventions, gastrointestinal procedures, MRI-guided treatments, reconstruction shuntograms, transcatheter procedures, venography, biopsy drainage, and excisional biopsies. This variety ensures a stimulating daily experience and the chance to apply your skill set across different subspecialties within the radiology spectrum.
Candidates for the Interventional Radiologist (IR) role must hold an active medical license in the state of South Carolina and be board certified in interventional radiology. The credentialing process typically takes between 60 and 90 days, ensuring that only highly qualified professionals are entrusted with patient care.
