We are currently seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist (IR) for a 12-week contract at a US Military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, with the potential for the role to become long-term. The Interventional Radiologist (IR) will be responsible for a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services. The position requires expertise in both clinical and procedural aspects, including the utilization of advanced imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Ultrasound (US). The Interventional Radiologist (IR) will work closely within a multidisciplinary team in a military medical facility, performing a variety of complex and specialized procedures in support of patient care.

Interventional Radiologist (IR) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform a full spectrum of interventional and diagnostic radiology physician services as granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF)
- Utilize advanced imaging technology, including CT, MRI, and US, for diagnosing and treating complex medical cases
- Instruct and educate other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges
- Examine, diagnose, and prescribe treatment plans in line with training, experience, and granted privileges
- Collaborate with referring physicians to provide timely and accurate results of studies and tests
- Oversee and interpret radiographic examinations, ensuring correct procedures and adherence to professional standards
- Perform fluoroscopic and special radiographic procedures, including interventional, angiography, pediatric radiology, and more
- Conduct medium and high-risk invasive surgical procedures for vascular and interventional radiology
- Manage patient admissions, inpatient follow-up, and discharge procedures as appropriate
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and coordinate consultations or referrals as needed
- Provide technical direction and in-service training to medical staff members
- Respond promptly to emergency and routine interventional radiology consultations
- Maintain trauma center IR response requirements, including timely hemorrhage control interventions
- Participate in on-call emergency coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited school
- Completion of internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology, and fellowship in Interventional Radiology (accredited by ACGME or AOA)
- Valid, unrestricted medical license from a US state or the District of Columbia
- Board certification in Radiology and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiologists
- Minimum of two years post-fellowship experience in interventional radiology within the last three years
- Current DEA Registration Certificate and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Credentials approval and privileges granted by the MTF Credentialing Committee
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
