Insurance Agent Job Overview
Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking motivated professionals to join our team as an Insurance Agent on a contract basis in Omaha, NE. This role is ideal for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset who are interested in building a business within the insurance industry. Whether you are an experienced insurance professional or new to the field, comprehensive training and support will be provided. As an Insurance Agent, you will play a pivotal role in helping individuals and families protect their futures by providing a range of insurance products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain required state licenses, including Property & Casualty License and Life and Health License, in accordance with Nebraska regulations.
- Meet or exceed established new business production goals and objectives through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
- Develop and maintain a network of prospective clients using various sources such as telephone outreach, community networking, and referrals.
- Conduct client appointments to assess individual financial needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Prepare and present personalized insurance proposals, effectively communicate policy features, and guide clients through the sales process to close sales.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and policy details.
- Initiate Project 150, leveraging a personal network of 150 contacts to launch and grow your insurance business.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary insurance licenses as required by the state of Nebraska.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a background check.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex insurance products and services.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and motivation to build and operate an independent business.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities and client needs.
- Commitment to advocating for clients and identifying their insurance and financial service needs.
- Preferred: SIE certification.
