The Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO, Adult Psychiatry) role is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated psychiatric physician seeking a position in a dynamic inpatient environment. The Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO, Adult Psychiatry) will be responsible for managing a daily census of approximately 10 to 12 patients in a 22-bed inpatient unit. This unit is supported by a full complement of clinical and allied health professionals, ensuring that patients receive a holistic and integrated approach to their care. The average length of stay for patients is between 7 and 10 days, offering an opportunity for psychiatrists to closely monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. The role utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and care coordination, ensuring efficient and accurate communication across the care team.

The position offers a weekday schedule from Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with no weekend or on-call responsibilities, supporting a healthy work-life balance. There is an immediate need for coverage with potential for extension based on mutual agreement. The facility provides coverage for travel expenses, making this an attractive position for psychiatrists seeking a locum tenens or contract opportunity. The credentialing process typically takes 30 to 60 days, allowing for a structured and supportive onboarding experience. Board Certification (BC) or Board Eligibility (BE) in Psychiatry is preferred, and Suboxone certification is considered a plus, reflecting the facility’s commitment to providing comprehensive addiction treatment services. An active state medical license is required for this position.
