Injection Molding Operator – Summary
- Operate and monitor injection molding machinery to ensure continuous production of high-quality plastic parts.
- Remove molded plastic parts from machines and perform detailed inspections for quality assurance.
- Execute secondary processes, such as trimming, cleaning, and assembly, following both written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including the number of good parts, scrap, and machine downtime.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely remove injection-molded plastic parts from molding machines.
- Trim parts from runners using side cutters and remove any excess flash as necessary.
- Clean and visually inspect each part for defects or irregularities.
- Perform additional operations such as fixturing, assembly, machining, staging, sanding, sonic welding, hot stamping, or weigh counting as needed.
- Pack finished parts into containers and stack them in designated areas for further processing or shipment.
- Sort runners from parts on automatic running presses to ensure cleanliness and consistency.
- Operate material grinders to recycle runners and reject parts, supporting sustainability initiatives.
- Accurately record and report rejected parts at the molding machine to support quality control efforts.
- Complete required data entry tasks, documenting production counts, scrap, and job timings.
- Follow all company safety procedures and participate in ongoing training to maintain a safe work environment.
