Identity and Access Management Engineer (IAM Engineer, Okta) - Summary
As an Identity and Access Management Engineer (IAM Engineer, Okta), you will serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects of identity provisioning and security processes. You will work closely with internal teams to configure and maintain Okta Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and other identity solutions, ensuring the integrity and security of organizational access. This role requires a strong focus on automation, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement to support the ongoing evolution of the organization’s security landscape. Your expertise in Okta, SAML, OpenID, OAuth, and related IAM technologies will be essential in driving efficiencies, maintaining compliance, and responding to security incidents.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on identity and access management processes, with a focus on Okta and associated technologies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to configure and integrate applications for Okta SSO, supporting seamless authentication and authorization experiences.
- Implement and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), federation, and other IAM solutions to enhance organizational security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MFA, SSO, and directory services, ensuring timely and effective user access management.
- Identify, propose, and lead automation initiatives for IAM processes, striving for increased efficiency and reduced risk.
- Contribute to security incident response efforts, particularly those related to identity and access management.
- Support mergers and acquisitions by assisting with IAM integrations and ensuring smooth transitions of identity systems.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies.
- Proven hands-on expertise managing IAM tools and platforms, including Okta.
- In-depth knowledge of Okta, MFA, SAML, OpenID, OAuth, and WS-Federation protocols.
- Experience with automation of IAM processes and troubleshooting account provisioning issues.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and provide leadership in complex technical environments.
