ICU RN – Summary
- 13-week, full-time contract assignment in an intensive care unit setting
- Focus on providing advanced, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize evidence-based practices to support patient recovery and well-being
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of patient vital signs, ECGs, and physiological parameters
- Administer and titrate complex medications, including vasoactive drips and sedatives
- Manage and operate life-support equipment such as mechanical ventilators
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Provide essential emotional support, guidance, and education to patients and their families during critical times
- Respond rapidly to emergencies and changes in patient conditions, utilizing advanced cardiac life support skills
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
- Uphold infection control protocols and ensure a safe, healing environment for patients and staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an intensive care unit in a hospital setting
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency in advanced cardiac life support, IV insertion, and central line care
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
