ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary
- Deliver high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients in an intensive care setting as an ICU Registered Nurse (RN).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal clinical outcomes.
- Support Decypher’s mission by advancing healthcare excellence for military personnel, veterans, and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document findings accurately according to standard protocols.
- Administer medications using the five rights of medication administration, including intravenous, subcutaneous, oral, transdermal, rectal, and intramuscular routes.
- Provide clinical care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasopressors, and management of life-support equipment.
- Coordinate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other nurses to execute individualized care plans for ICU patients.
- Implement infection control practices and ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-care expectations, tailoring communication to individual needs.
- Participate in emergency response activities, operating equipment such as defibrillators, EKG machines, and cardiac monitors.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that care plans reflect the unique needs and preferences of each patient and family.
- Assist with invasive procedures within the scope of practice, including arterial line insertions, central line management, and ventilator care.
- Contribute to quality assurance and risk management initiatives, responding promptly to breaches in standards or safety protocols.
- Participate in research, committee work, and professional development as needed to support best practices in ICU care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (ACEN or CCNE).
- Current, unrestricted RN license in one of the 50 US states or territories.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse (RN).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS/ALS) certification from the American Red Cross.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
