The IBM i System Engineering Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for IBM i OS and related hardware, providing strategic technology direction and ensuring best practices are implemented across all managed installations. The role requires comprehensive oversight of over 100 IBM i installations, including ongoing lifecycle management, performance optimization, and robust system security. The manager will lead and mentor a dedicated engineering team, overseeing the setup, configuration, and deployment of new IBM i servers, as well as managing hardware procurement and logistics. IBM i System Engineering Manager - Summary- Lead the management and optimization of IBM i (AS400) systems for a rapidly growing organization.
- Provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and hands-on leadership for all IBM i platform initiatives.
- Oversee a team responsible for system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure system security, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across IT infrastructure operations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on IBM i OS and associated hardware components.
- Oversee the full lifecycle management of more than 100 IBM i installations, including upgrades and preventative maintenance.

- Manage the procurement, setup, configuration, and deployment of new IBM i servers.
- Provide advanced technical support and effective problem resolution for IBM i systems and related peripherals.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related IT infrastructure role.
- At least 3 years of management or team leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of IBM i OS, hardware configuration, and system performance management.
- Expertise in IBM i security, user profile management, and backup processes.
