The IAM Business Analyst plays a critical role in supporting identity and access management (IAM) initiatives within organizations committed to cybersecurity and IT excellence. As an integral member of the team, the IAM Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders, technical teams, and business users to develop, implement, and optimize IAM solutions that align with security policies and compliance standards. In addition to gathering requirements, the IAM Business Analyst assists in designing access control models, such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), to enhance user experience and streamline access provisioning. The analyst also works closely with DevOps, development, support, and QA teams to ensure the seamless integration of IAM solutions with existing systems and workflows. Familiarity with key interoperability protocols, including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM, is essential to facilitate secure authentication and authorization processes across platforms.
The IAM Business Analyst regularly analyzes identity management processes to identify inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and implement best practices. This role requires a thorough understanding of IAM lifecycle activities, including provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts and managing directories such as Active Directory.
