HVAC Test Technician - Summary
The HVAC Test Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on commercial and residential HVAC products, preparing and modifying testing setups, and ensuring equipment meets all engineering and safety standards. This role requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with a strong foundation in HVAC installation, repair, and refrigerant handling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests on Mitsubishi commercial and residential HVAC products to support product engineering initiatives.
- Prepare, assemble, and modify testing equipment and HVAC units according to engineering specifications and guidance.
- Utilize mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise to set up and maintain testing chambers, instrumentation, and related equipment.
- Perform refrigerant charging, recovery, and diagnostic troubleshooting to ensure accurate and safe testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all testing activities, results, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all testing equipment operates safely and efficiently, following industry best practices and safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and team members to support continuous improvement in product testing and development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of at least 1 year of technical school or other post-secondary training in HVAC or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in HVAC installation and repair.
- Demonstrated brazing skills in HVAC applications.
- EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification is required and must be current.
