HVAC Service Technician - Summary
- Execute field service activities such as preventative maintenance, inspections, start-ups, and emergency repairs.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of HVAC&R systems per design specs and customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment.
- Communicate effectively with clients to manage expectations and provide updates.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in HVAC units and generators.
- Commission new systems, ensuring proper start-up and operational efficiency.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and resolve issues efficiently.
- Install and test refrigeration piping systems using industry best practices.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts, and blueprints to complete installations and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and update job logs as required.
- Operate Microsoft Office software and utilize mobile devices for communication and reporting.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training is a plus.
- At least 2 years of HVAC field experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Universal EPA CFC certification required.
- 10-hour OSHA certification required.
- Must meet union qualification process for Journeyman standing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC industry, including air conditioning, heating, electrical, boilers, humidification, dehumidification, and refrigeration.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts, and blueprints.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
