HVAC/R Service Technician – Commercial Refrigeration SummaryThe HVAC/R Service Technician – Commercial Refrigeration is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. The technician will manage service calls, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and complete accurate documentation. This position is suited for individuals who are self-driven, eager to support team members, and committed to quality and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain various commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, rack systems, prep tables, ice machines, and commercial HVAC units.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Lead service calls and provide guidance and mentorship to apprentice and junior technicians in the field.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety protocols and industry standards.
- Perform both preventative maintenance and emergency service calls as required.
- Complete detailed service documentation and work orders accurately and promptly.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch personnel, and management to ensure clear understanding of service needs and solutions.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent condition.

- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC/R, with a strong background in refrigeration systems.
- EPA Universal Certification is required for this role.
- Proven diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in leading or mentoring field technicians is highly valued.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently manage service calls, and deliver results under minimal supervision.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
