HVAC/R Service Technician – Commercial Refrigeration SummaryThe HVAC/R Service Technician – Commercial Refrigeration is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a broad range of commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This role not only demands technical proficiency but also leadership as you will mentor junior technicians and ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties & Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Service equipment including walk-in coolers, freezers, rack systems, prep tables, ice machines, and other commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related issues using advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Lead service calls, providing guidance and support to apprentice and junior technicians in the field.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance as well as respond to emergency service situations as required.
- Complete accurate and detailed service documentation, logging all work performed and parts used.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and management to ensure a seamless service experience.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent condition, adhering to company protocols.

- 3-5 years of experience servicing commercial HVAC/R systems, specifically within the refrigeration industry.
- EPA Universal Certification is required for handling refrigerants and compliance with federal regulations.
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience, guiding less experienced technicians in the field.
- Ability to manage service calls independently and efficiently, prioritizing customer satisfaction and safety.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for operating a company vehicle.
