The HVAC Estimator plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of HVAC and building automation projects by delivering accurate, comprehensive cost estimates and supporting the bid process from start to finish. As an HVAC Estimator, you will work extensively with computer estimating systems and specialized software to evaluate plan/spec and design/build HVAC projects. Your role ensures that all projects are competitively priced, thoroughly documented, and aligned with both client requirements and organizational standards. Key responsibilities of the HVAC Estimator include maintaining detailed estimating logs and unit costs for all assigned projects. The HVAC Estimator will regularly conduct site surveys and participate in pre-bid walkthroughs to gain an in-depth understanding of project requirements and site conditions. In addition to technical estimating duties, the HVAC Estimator is expected to read and interpret blueprints and various construction documentation accurately. To succeed as an HVAC Estimator, candidates should possess an associate's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Previous experience—ideally 0-2 years—in HVAC estimating is strongly recommended, and a proven track record in the industry is advantageous.
