Optigy is currently seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO, Locum Tenens) for a contract assignment at a prominent tertiary care facility in Bristol, TN. This role involves delivering high-quality inpatient medical services in a collaborative and modern healthcare environment. Physicians in this position will join a dynamic hospitalist team, working alongside advanced practice providers (APPs) and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, round-the-clock care to a diverse, high-acuity patient population. The Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO, Locum Tenens) will be responsible for comprehensive inpatient management, including admissions, daily rounding, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and discharges. The facility boasts a modern infrastructure with 263 acute care beds, including 37 ICU beds, and an annual admission volume of approximately 12,000 patients. The average daily census ranges from 210 to 230 patients, with an average length of stay of 5.07 days and a case mix index of 1.55, reflecting a complex and varied patient population.
This position offers a flexible schedule, with a minimum of 7 shifts per month required, and shift coverage split between day (7a–7p) and night rotations. The staffing model consists of four day-rounding physicians, one night-rounding physician, and two day-rounding APPs, ensuring robust coverage and ample support. Overtime opportunities are available for shifts extending beyond 12 hours daily or 168 hours weekly, allowing for additional earning potential.
