The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) plays a pivotal role within the hospital medicine advanced practice provider team at a leading academic teaching facility. The Hospitalist NP / PA is responsible for independently managing a cohort of 7-9 acute care patients per shift using an APP-forward model that is supported by a team of experienced physicians. The role primarily consists of patient rounding but may also require admitting responsibilities based on census and admission volume. The ideal candidate will be adept at synthesizing clinical information, forming differential diagnoses, and implementing safe, evidence-based treatment plans. The Hospitalist NP / PA will be empowered to prescribe therapies, monitor responses, adjust treatment strategies, and ensure seamless transitions of care. Communication and collaboration are essential, as the Hospitalist NP / PA will engage with patients, families, nurses, and a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals to facilitate optimal care delivery.
