Palm Health Resources is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist (Nocturnist) - Internal Medicine, MD/DO to join our dynamic hospitalist team at a 420-bed regional referral center in Southeast Alabama. As a physician with an Internal Medicine residency background, you will become an essential member of a well-established group of over 25 full-time, board-certified Internal Medicine Hospitalists. This position offers the unique opportunity to provide inpatient care during nocturnal hours, working collaboratively within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment that fosters ongoing professional development.
Our hospitalist program is managed directly by the facility, ensuring stability, seamless communication, and a strong sense of community among the medical staff. The nocturnist team structure includes two physicians and two nurse practitioners each night, enabling comprehensive and efficient patient care. As a Hospitalist (Nocturnist) - Internal Medicine, MD/DO, you will play a vital role in admitting and managing adult patients who require inpatient care, including those transferred from other facilities and those presenting to the Emergency Department. You will also collaborate closely with intensivists to co-manage critically ill patients, with robust 24/7 pulmonary/critical care and subspecialty support. The presence of in-house radiology physicians around the clock further enhances patient care and diagnostic efficiency. Our flexible scheduling system allows you to tailor your work schedule, with a minimum commitment of 12 shifts per month, each consisting of 12-hour overnight shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
