The outpatient clinic is designed to handle a robust patient volume, averaging 16 clinic visits and 30 infusion treatments per day. The Hematology Oncology Physician (Hem/Onc) will be responsible for a balanced case load, with approximately 50% oncology and 50% hematology cases. The facility’s electronic medical record (EMR) system is currently Cerner, with a planned transition to EPIC, providing advanced tools for patient management and care coordination.
Support is a key feature of this position, with a team that includes a full-time medical hematology/oncology physician, a full-time nurse practitioner specializing in hematology/oncology, and two full-time radiation oncologists. The collaborative environment fosters continuous learning and high-quality patient care. Candidates must possess board certification in both hematology and oncology, and be licensed in the relevant state or eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required, along with an active or transferable state DEA registration. Travel accommodations are provided, and the credentialing process is streamlined, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean files.
