The Hematology Oncology Physician (Hem/Onc) is a critical role within the field of oncology and hematology, delivering comprehensive care to patients with cancer and blood disorders. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a board-certified physician to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional outpatient care. The Hematology Oncology Physician (Hem/Onc) will work in a well-supported clinical environment, collaborating closely with experienced medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with standard daytime hours and the option to participate in weekend call coverage. The outpatient clinic is designed to handle a robust patient volume, averaging 16 clinic visits and 30 infusion treatments per day. There is no requirement for telehealth services, ensuring a hands-on, patient-focused approach. The Hematology Oncology Physician (Hem/Onc) will be responsible for a balanced case load, with approximately 50% oncology and 50% hematology cases. The facility’s electronic medical record (EMR) system is currently Cerner, with a planned transition to EPIC, providing advanced tools for patient management and care coordination.

Support is a key feature of this position, with a team that includes a full-time medical hematology/oncology physician, a full-time nurse practitioner specializing in hematology/oncology, and two full-time radiation oncologists. The collaborative environment fosters continuous learning and high-quality patient care. The Hematology Oncology Physician (Hem/Onc) will also benefit from robust administrative and clinical support, allowing for a focus on direct patient care.

Candidates must possess board certification in both hematology and oncology, and be licensed in the relevant state or eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required, along with an active or transferable state DEA registration. Travel accommodations are provided, and the credentialing process is streamlined, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean files.
