Hematology Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary
- Provide specialized care for hematology and cell therapy patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients through various phases of treatment and recovery.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care plans with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and laboratory evaluations specific to hematology and cell therapy.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with attending physicians and care teams.
- Provide clinical coverage in both inpatient hospital units and outpatient clinics, including infusion centers.
- Monitor treatment responses, manage side effects, and coordinate follow-up care for patients undergoing hematology and cell therapy interventions.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment protocols, and self-care strategies.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized under scope of practice and licensure.
- Ensure timely documentation and communication of patient care activities in electronic medical records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay abreast of advances in hematology and cell therapy by engaging in continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in the State of California.
- Current DEA license and furnishing number or eligibility to obtain.
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with preference for candidates with inpatient experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience preferred, particularly in hematology, oncology, or related specialties.
- Oncology certification is preferred but not required.
