Palm Health Resources is seeking a highly qualified Hematologist Oncologist – Locum Tenens, Hem/Onc, BE/BC to provide expert outpatient care at our Ohio facility. This full-time contract position offers a one-year initial term with the potential for extension, making it an excellent opportunity for board certified or board eligible professionals specializing in hematology and oncology. The role is designed for those passionate about delivering comprehensive care to patients with a range of hematologic and oncologic conditions in a supportive and well-resourced environment.

The Hematologist Oncologist – Locum Tenens, Hem/Onc, BE/BC will join a practice focused exclusively on outpatient services, eliminating the need for inpatient rounding. The successful candidate will be responsible for seeing both new and follow-up patients, with a patient volume that will gradually increase to between 10 and 20 patients per day. Emphasis is placed on benign hematology, with a typical monthly caseload including approximately 35 new hematology consults and 10 new oncology consults. The patient mix consists of a 60% focus on hematology and 40% on oncology, offering a dynamic and varied clinical experience.

The position requires direct supervision of infusion services and may involve oversight of nursing staff. There is no advanced practice provider (APP) support in this role, which provides an opportunity for highly autonomous practice. The case mix includes solid tumors and malignant hematologic conditions such as lung, colon, and breast cancers, as well as lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), and all types of anemias. The practice does not include acute myeloid leukemia (AML) treatment or stem cell transplants, with those cases referred to specialized centers.

Utilizing the Epic electronic medical record system (Beacon module), the Hematologist Oncologist – Locum Tenens, Hem/Onc, BE/BC will be part of a forward-thinking and technology-driven team. Candidates must be eligible for Ohio medical licensure. While hospital privileges are not typically required, this can be confirmed based on individual circumstances. The role offers a consistent Monday through Wednesday schedule, with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a predictable work-life balance and the ability to focus on patient care.
