Palm Health Resources is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Hematologist Oncologist (Hem/Onc) for an exciting locum tenens opportunity. This full-time contract position offers the chance to provide dedicated outpatient care in a high-volume clinical setting with a focus on both hematology and oncology cases. This role supports a facility in Kentucky and presents the possibility of an ongoing placement, making it ideal for experienced physicians seeking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.

As a Hematologist Oncologist, you will primarily focus on outpatient care, managing a diverse panel of patients with solid tumor and malignant hematology diagnoses. The practice is busy, with the expectation of managing 18 to 20 patients per day once fully established. The patient volume builds rapidly due to the facility's strong reputation and large patient base. Monthly new consults include approximately 35 hematology and 10 oncology cases, with a significant focus on benign hematology. The typical case mix includes solid tumors such as lung, colon, and breast cancers, as well as hematologic malignancies like lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), while acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and stem cell transplant services are not managed onsite.

The Hematologist Oncologist role is split approximately 60% hematology and 40% oncology. Responsibilities also include supervision of infusion services. There is no requirement for inpatient rounding, and the position is not supported by advanced practice providers (APPs). The electronic medical record (EMR) system used is Epic (Beacon). Candidates must hold or be eligible for a valid Kentucky medical license. Call responsibilities are minimal and are expected to be confirmed at the time of assignment.

Palm Health Resources provides comprehensive support for locum tenens physicians, including malpractice coverage, housing, travel, rental car or mileage reimbursement, and additional benefits to ensure a smooth assignment experience. Working in Kentucky, you will enjoy the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in a region known for its welcoming communities and accessible healthcare facilities.
