Heart Failure Transplant Physician - Summary
- Responsible for the care and management of patients with advanced heart failure, including those undergoing or being considered for cardiac transplantation.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with cardiologists, transplant surgeons, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in cutting-edge research and continuous professional development in the field of heart failure and transplantation.
- Contribute to educational initiatives and mentorship of medical staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with heart failure to determine transplant eligibility.
- Manage pre- and post-transplant care, including immunosuppression, rejection surveillance, and long-term follow-up.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on best practices and patient needs.
- Lead and participate in patient care conferences and multidisciplinary rounds.
- Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding heart failure and transplant care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in cardiology or heart failure/transplant cardiology.
- Board certification or board eligibility in cardiology, with subspecialty training in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology preferred.
- Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in the management of advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
