Responsibilities
- Lead and develop project teams by identifying and adding key supporting personnel as needed to ensure project success.
- Create, manage, and update detailed project schedules to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
- Review all project drawings and specifications, coordinating closely with development teams to clarify architectural, interior design, and construction details.
- Generate accurate construction estimates and assist in the preparation and management of project budgets.
- Monitor and analyze expenditures, identifying variances between budgeted and actual costs, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversee procurement and coordination of materials with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery and project flow.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings and regular progress reviews with internal stakeholders, including the VP of Construction and project team members.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination among production, architecture, and design teams throughout all phases of the project.
- Maintain accountability for contract administration, execution, job cost tracking, billing, change order control systems, claims, and job closeout processes.
- Participate in company-wide project management meetings to review project performance and share best practices.
- Exercise decision-making authority on project cost, scheduling, construction methods, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience managing commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on healthcare or life sciences sectors.
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager overseeing multiple concurrent projects valued between $4.5M and $20M.
- Familiarity with construction codes, general methods, and contract documents.
- Proven ability to prepare detailed scopes of work and communicate requirements clearly to all stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and construction estimating software.
- Experience collaborating with accounting teams to produce accurate operational and financial reports.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions, evaluate options objectively, and listen to and incorporate feedback from team members.
- Professional written and verbal communication, including the ability to compose formal correspondence and present information confidently.
