Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate Hadoop-based systems to efficiently store, manage, and process large datasets.
- Support critical collections such as Customer Connect, Provider Vista, and regulatory mandates including State Transparency and Continuity of Care.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, implement solutions, and deliver data-driven insights.
- Apply expertise in Spark, HBase, NoSQL databases, and data streaming technologies to optimize data workflows.
- Conduct unit testing, documentation, and release procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Utilize debugging, versioning, and flowcharting tools to maintain high-quality, reliable data systems.
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Adapt to evolving project requirements and rapidly changing environments while maintaining focus on business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with change management and security standards for cloud-based data solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in technical design and coding within the IT industry.
- Proficiency with Hadoop, Spark, HBase, NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB), and Spark/Kafka streaming.
- Strong programming skills in object-oriented languages such as Scala.
- Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), DB2, and cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehousing, data modeling, and data transformation.
- Thorough understanding of the systems development life cycle and information technology best practices.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Must have permanent work authorization and be eligible to work for any employer without sponsorship.
