Groundskeeper - SummaryThe Groundskeeper is responsible for the regular maintenance and improvement of outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, walkways, and communal spaces. Groundskeepers are relied upon to address both routine care and special projects, ensuring all grounds maintenance needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform regular lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, watering, fertilizing, and aerating to maintain healthy grass.
- Plant, prune, and maintain shrubs, trees, and flowers throughout all growing seasons.
- Remove weeds and invasive plants from gardens, walkways, and landscaped areas.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring safe and effective use at all times.
- Monitor the grounds for debris, litter, and seasonal hazards, promptly removing and disposing of waste materials.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow and ice management, and spring/fall cleanups.
- Apply mulch, compost, or other soil amendments as needed to support healthy plant growth.
- Inspect irrigation systems for proper operation and report issues to supervisors or maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with other grounds maintenance staff to complete larger landscaping projects or special assignments.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines when handling landscaping chemicals, equipment, and materials.

- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
