This permanent, full-time opportunity is ideal for an Internal Medicine Physician who is passionate about providing high-quality care to older adults. As a key member of our medical staff, the Geriatrician or Internal Medicine Physician will deliver comprehensive outpatient services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the health and well-being of geriatric patients. The practice utilizes Athena EMR, ensuring efficient and modern documentation and care coordination.
Our outpatient practice is committed to evidence-based medicine and upholding the highest standards of patient-centered care. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing chronic diseases, performing geriatric assessments, and coordinating care for a diverse population of older adults. This permanent position offers a predictable weekday schedule, with occasional evening and Saturday shifts to support patient access and continuity of care.

Geriatrician (MD/DO) – Internal Medicine Physician Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care to geriatric patients
- Conduct geriatric assessments, manage chronic conditions, and develop individualized care plans
- Participate in a regular schedule of Monday through Friday shifts (9 am to 3 pm), with a rotation of one Saturday per month (replacing one weekday shift that week) and two evening shifts per month
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Document all patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up activities in the Athena EMR system
- Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and participate in regular team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine
- Fellowship training in Geriatrics is preferred but not required
- Active state medical license and state DEA registration
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
- Experience working in an outpatient setting and managing geriatric patients is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar electronic medical record systems is a plus
