General Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Summary- Provide inpatient consultative care to general surgery patients within a multidisciplinary team.
- Serve as a clinical expert in general surgery nursing practice, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.
- Focus on patient assessment, management, care coordination, and collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Maintain active involvement in quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive inpatient consults for general surgery patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and care planning.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical conditions, treatment options, and post-care requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and provide input on patient management strategies.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and practice evidence-based medicine within the inpatient setting.
- Utilize cost-effective approaches to patient care and resource management.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications and licensure.
- Competitive annual salary range: $135,000 - $210,000

- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure in California
- Board Certification through ANCC or AANP
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing number
- DEA provider number (Schedule II - V)
- CURES registration
- NPI Number
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- 1 to 2 years of experience in general surgery required
- Experienced in inpatient general surgery care and comfortable with consultative roles
