General Dentist – Locum Tenens Summary
- Provide general dental care with a focus on pediatric and adult populations
- Flexible, ongoing locum tenens assignment in a community health center
- Work within a state-of-the-art, low-volume dental clinic
- Collaborate with skilled support staff, including dental hygienists and assistants
- Utilize Nextgen EMR for electronic medical recordkeeping
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and diagnose oral health issues
- Perform restorative procedures, including fillings and crowns
- Carry out extractions, root canals, and preventive cleanings for patients of all ages (5+)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Collaborate with dental hygienists and assistants to optimize patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation using Nextgen EMR
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
- Participate in ongoing professional development and clinic meetings as required
- Support the clinic's mission of providing accessible, high-quality dental care to the community

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certification as a General Dentist (BC Dentist)
- Active, unrestricted state dental license
- Valid DEA registration
- Pediatric dental experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferably Nextgen)
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care
- Credentialing process completion (30-60 days for full privileges)
