Gastroenterologist (MD/DO) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a variety of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and other advanced interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with internal medicine, surgery, and other specialty teams to provide coordinated patient care.
- Develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Consult with patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, recovery, and ongoing care.
- Interpret laboratory and imaging results to inform clinical decisions.
- Participate in continuing medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor medical staff, residents, and other learners as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
- Active and unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in Ohio.
- Strong knowledge of gastroenterological diseases, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
