Gastroenterologist (MD) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders, esophageal disorders, and gastrointestinal cancers
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and related diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient follow-up care to ensure continuity of patient management
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with medical standards and regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of gastroenterology services within the organization

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in MI
- Demonstrated clinical competence in the field of gastroenterology, including proficiency in endoscopic procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
